Mia is 15 months old!

Here's Mia after enjoying some of Mommy's Chili.
She is 15 months old as of last Saturday. She is 21 pounds, 10 ounces (33%). She is eating really well most of the time now. She still has the 4 teeth up top, 2 on the bottom and now 2 MOLARS! I wasn't even looking for those yet, but I was holding her upside down and there they were: on top, one on each side. She is walking really well now, all over the place. In fact, she doesn't really crawl much at all. Now, she is working on steps. She has been adding to her words too. New favorites: baby, eyes, cup, Buzz (Lightyear), Dee-Dee, which is the name of Kyler's sleeping bunny that she has also named her bunny:)

The deer that have been chillin in our yard the past couple days. There must be something they like out there because they keep coming back with more friends. The other day, one came right up to the house and looked in the window! Freaked me out. Charlie barked him away real fast.

New Year's eve, 6 hour early party. We all had a great time and I got a big kiss from my little guy at "midnight". We told him he had to kiss a girl and he said that Mommy is the only girl he kisses. So after the countdown, he came running over and planted one on me (I guess to make sure he didn't have to kiss someone else!)

Christmas 2009

Church on Christmas eve. Kyler was having a great time singing and dancing. When it was over, he said, "No, I want more Church!"

Mia got some other great gifts over Christmas too. She started walking and talking. She is all over the place now and saying so many words. She will repeat back almost anything you say but her favorites are goggles (like the ones Kyler wears all the time), up, yes, cheese, water, and of course still the clapping and pointing when she wants something and vigorously shaking her head "no" when she does not.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

We had a huge snowstorm over the weekend, definitely the biggest the kids have ever seen. Reports say 16-18 inches in our area! We have been out playing in it every day since, and it looks like it will be a White Christmas this year!

Mia and Mommy watched from the warmth of inside while the boys shoveled us out 4 times during the storm.
Chris said Kyler was actually a big help with the shoveling this year.
Mia is not a huge fan of the snow. She liked it until it got on her hands, (which she kept taking her mittens off) and on her face. She lasts about 15-20 minutes tops.
Kyler is a huge fan of the snow and would stay out there all day if he could.
On Sunday, we had a Christmas celebration with my Mom's side of the family. Just a couple missing: Tony, Erik and his family, and Michael's sons Evan and Jeremy who had been stuck at airports for 2 days in the midwest somewhere. (They were coming from Mississippi???)

After returning form our trip to Florida, we all got sick. Mia had it the worst, poor thing: 6 days of fever and constant crying with vomiting on day 5. Took her to the doctors 3 times over the course of a week. They said it was the flu, but never said whether it was Swine or regular. Thanksgiving was a little rough as a result but we toughed it out for some turkey with all the fixings, and of course pie!

The following week we got together with my cousins and their kids to draw names for Pollyanna!

The first snow of the year. Kyler loves it and is not afraid of snowmen this year. Although, he did insist that the snowman not have eyes or a nose or a hat for some reason??

Mia turned 14 months yesterday. She is becoming a great eater! It just happened over night. She pretty much eats everything I give her now: lasagna, chili, toquitos, quesadillas, meatballs, all kinds of fruits and veggies. It's great. Now her and her brother have switched roles and he is becoming the picky one. She is 20 pounds, 13 ounces(27%), but I think that will start picking up soon. She's clapping, waving bye- bye, and signing "more" quite a bit now. She is also repeating words and sounds and says a few on her own. Her favorite thing to say now is, "Uh oh!" I think she drops things on purpose just so she can say it!

Kyler and her are able to play together a little and it is the cutest thing to watch. Kyler sometimes plays the parent telling her, "I am very frustrated with you right now, Mia" or "Mia, I don't want to see that again!" He is sooooo excited for Christmas he can barely stand it. It is a lot of fun doing all the activities and preparations with them. It will be a great time this year!
