Kyler is 1 year old!!!

Kyler officially turned 1 on Tuesday. I can't believe a whole year has gone by already. I can remember bringing him home from the hospital and thinking, "What do I do with this little thing?" We have both learned a lot this year. Although some of it was tough, it has been the best year of my life and I can't imagine how I lived my life without my little guy. You hear all the cliche's: "It will change your life forever", and "you never knew you could love someone so much". The fact of the matter is that all the cliches are 100% true.
He is such a big boy, hardly a baby anymore. It's so fun to have this little person learning about his world. He is so fascinated by everything. I wish I could be half as interested in SOMETHING as he is in EVERYTHING.
He had his well baby visit today. He is 24 lbs, 2 oz (69%) and 32 inches tall (96%). And to think I use to worry about how skinny he was last summer. Eating is no problem for him and he has really been expanding his repertoire of food. He still eats baby oatmeal but the rest is all big people food. Still holding at 6 teeth: 4 on top, 2 bottom. He is walking a lot now. Almost overnight this past weekend, he decided that walking is now his primary mode of mobility- and only crawls a little when he falls. And now just walking isn't enough. He has to carry stuff or drink out of his cup while he is walking. It scares me. No real words yet though. The doctor said he has probably been too interested in mastering walking.
This week has brought some big changes for him. First, no more nursing as of Tuesday. He seems to be handling it just fine, better then Mommy, both physically and mentally. He hasn't had milk yet though because we are using up the free formula we got when he was born. He can also sit forward in his car seat which is a big help, because he had just about had it with facing backwards. Of course he had the cake and ice cream at his party and there are more new foods he will be trying out soon.
Well, with Mother's Day coming up, I hope all the moms out there really appreciate what a gift they have and that everyone appreciates what a gift they have in their mom.
