Christmas Weekend

It was Kyler's first Christmas and although he doesn't know what is going on, he knows what he likes and he likes presents. The whole weekend was a big party and he loved it.

Partying at Aunt Michelle and Uncle Dave's on Saturday night.

Kyler is 7 months

Kyler was 7 months old last Friday and got sick for the first time. And boy was it a doozy- the dreaded stomach bug. I got it first and gave it to Chris and Kyler. Then we thought everyone was feeling better, so we went to Erik and Renee's house for Erik's birthday. 2 days later, Erik, Michelle, my Mom, and Father-in-law all had it.
And just the other day, my Dad came down with it. So, I pretty much took out the whole family and it takes everyone about a week to get over it.
Kyler handled it the best out of everyone though: no fussing, no crying, and sleeping fine. I couldn't believe it. Even when he was throwing up, he was still smiling and happy. I just can't get over how good he is: sleeps great, eats everything you put in front of him, and now even handles being sick well. Everyone tells me that it means the next baby is going to be a nightmare! I sure hope not.

Kyler's Baptism

Kyler's baptism was today. He was such a good boy through the whole service and didn't fuss a bit. He even enjoyed hanging out with everyone at brunch afterward, even though he had completely missed his morning nap. I guess he didn't want to miss any of the action.

Kyler's First Thanksgiving

Kyler enjoyed his first Thanksgiving at Gramma and Granpa's house. No turkey for him this year, but he did have sweet potatoes to stay in the theme of things. I think he liked all the attention and people fighting over him. "I want the baby, no I want the baby..."
Aunt Michelle and Uncle Dave babysat for the first time on Saturday night, while we were at our friend Carla's wedding. Everything went great, but it doesn't look like Kyler is going to have cousins anytime soon as Michelle and Dave said they aren't ready to do it full time!
Oh, and tooth number 2 is coming in now (bottom left)

Kyler is 6 months old!!!

Kyler turned 6 months last Wednesday and it has been a very exciting week as a 6 month old.

He has been eating food so well now and really starting to fill in. He doesn't turn his nose up at anything and weighed in at 16 pounds, 14 ounces last week. He goes for his 6 month visit this Friday so we will get his exact stats then.

He started sitting on his own last week and has been getting better every day.

Monday, his first tooth came through.

Tuesday, he finally rolled from back to belly and now I can't keep him from rolling all around the room!

He is just so active and fun lately, but also requires much more supervision. Last week, I was eating a salad while sitting next to him and out of no where, he flung himself forward and got 2 big fists full of lettuce with dressing running down his arms. He had the biggest grin on his face like he couldn't be happier!

The tooth. I swear it is there. You can feel it better than see it.

International traveler, part II

Kyler got to go to Canada again! This time to Toronto for Daddy's long time friend, Dave's wedding to Meera. He was so good for the entire trip, I just could not get over it. 10 hour drives each way, sleeping in the pack and play in new places, sleeping in the middle of a big party the night before the wedding, being babysat by Uncle Matt during the wedding. He took it all in stride with very little fussing and no meltdowns. I was a bit apprehensive about taking him, but I am so glad we did. He was so much fun to have with us on the trip!

The face we saw for the entire trip!

My new best friend & the Halloween Party

Kyler got to meet his future best friend. Ryan, who lives 2 doors down, was born on October 11th. He is so cute and little that it makes you realize how fast they grow up!

Now that the weather is colder, Kyler is able to try out some of the great sweaters Granny knit for him.

Kyler, Gramma, Aunt Michelle, and I went to a Halloween/birthday party for Madeline (daughter of Vicky, Kyler's babysitter, and granddaughter of Barb, my Mom's good friend) this weekend. We all had a good time and Kyler got to show off his Tigger Halloween costume.

We even found an Eeyore for him!

Highland Orchard

We went to Highland Orchard last Sunday to pick out our pumpkin. They had a lot of activities for the kids: hayrides, games, etc. Kyler is a little young this year but he liked watching the other kids and looking around. He is so curious now and really looks at everything like he is analyzing it.

Chris and I also went to my 15th highschool reunion on Sat night. Check out some photos on the family blog.

Kyler is 5 months old!

Babysitting and Lucky Canadians

Kyler started at the babysitter last week and it went really great. Kyler seemed to like it a lot and the little girls there love him! When I dropped him off this morning, one of the little girls yelled, "He's here!!!!" and 2 other girls came running. He had a nap strike this weekend from the adjustment, but seems to be back on track now.

I feel very fortunate that the situation with work and babysitting is going so well as I have heard some stories... However, I have realized that nobody has it as good as the Canadians! Our friends from Canada, Leslie and Carl came to visit last night. Leslie is due with a ??? in December. Anyway she told us (new mommies get ready to scream) that in Canada, you get 12 months maternity leave, where the government pays you 50% of your salary (up to a max) for the entire 12 months! Not only that, but many companies then pay on top of that to bring you up to your full salary which then decreases over 6-7 months! I am considering an international move for the next baby. The only problem, though is that you have to then live in Canada (hehe, just kidding)

Anyway, here's some recent photos in his new digs brought back from Switzerland from Aunt Michelle and Uncle Dave.

Back to work

Well, the time has come. I started back to work part time last week and it went very well. Chris' parents stayed with us for 2 weeks, so his mom watched Kyler while I worked. Monday will be the first big day at the babysitter! It was very nice to have them here to help with the transition back and Kyler got a good long visit with his Granny and Poppy! Thanks!

Here are some pics of Kyler enjoying one of the last days of summer, laying with Mommy on the hammock. It really has been the best summer being home with him and I am very grateful for this special time together. I will never forget it.

Kyler's 4 months old!

Kyler had his 4 month appointment with the doctor this past Friday. Of course that means more shots. We did better this time. No tears from Mommy and only a few from Kyler. He is now 26 1/4" long and 14 lbs. 10.6 oz. His weight dropped a few percentiles but we got the green light for some rice cereal. As you can see, with the way he throws it down, he should be packing on wieght in no time!

Only 4 months old and already his first car! They really do grow up quick these days.
