What was I complaining about with 1 kid!

Now that I am feeling better, I am starting to get into the routine of staying at home with 2 young kids and it makes me feel like having 1 was a breeze! What was I complaining about.
I'm trying not to short Kyler on our activities on account of Mia, so we are still going to play dates, library, Moon bounce, etc. with the 2 of them. It is getting better, but I must admit I was frightened at first. I really don't know how people do it with 3, 4, or more and forget about twins!

Here are some more pics of the baby girl. She is getting so big, so fast. I already have a bag of newborn clothes to put away that she doesn't fit in anymore!!!!

Not to be outdone in cuteness, Kyler says the cutest things. For example, last week we were playing who's a girl and who's a boy (I'm still not totally convinced that he knows the difference). Anyway, it went like this:

Me: What's Mia, a boy or girl?
Kyler: A girl
Me: What's Daddy?
Kyler: A boy
Me: What's Mommy
Kyler: A princess

And no, I hadn't been feeding him that info, he actually started saying that when he was looking at photos from our wedding. Must be the dress.

Kyler has become my little helper...most days.

Mia is 1 month old

Mia had her 1 month appointment this week. We are so happy that she is doing much better and putting on weight well now.

9 lbs 6 oz (55 %)
22.75 inches (95%)
14.75 head circumference (50%)

Uncle Erik getting ready, practicing his baby skills.

Then there is this huge guy that looks all the more giant since we brought Mia home. In fact, I started this online chart for Mia's growth that I had done for Kyler. I hadn't updated Kyler's for a while, so I put in his more recent stats. Well, he had been literally off the charts for a while, but now the system says error and won't even let me enter the info because he is too big for the program! I can't believe he was Mia's size a little more than 2 years ago.

October

The month of October has gone by so fast. Sorry about the lack of posts but it has been a crazy month. Fortunately, things are starting to settle down now.
The first week home with Mia was uneventful, just the usual healing. The second week proved a little tougher. Mia wasn't gaining any weight so we had to give her pumped bottles to monitor her intake and take her to the doctor daily. Kyler was having pretty much constant melt downs and our indoor cat disappeared. After about a week, Mia started gaining weight and I could go back to nursing. (Pumping 8 times a day is awful-I was about to throw the pump out the window!) Kyler also settled down and our cat came home after 9 days!
Ah...everything was falling into place, then I started to feel a little sick... then I got worse...and worse...I was trying to fight it off but with little or no sleep that wasn't going to happen. I finally went to the doctor to find out I had a sinus infection and bronchitis-nice!
I am now day 3 on my second antibiotic (4 days of the first one did nothing) and starting to feel a tiny bit better. Uggg-It feels like by the time I am well, Mia wont even be a baby anymore!

So this should get you up to speed:

Chris took Kyler to Milky way farms for pumpkin picking.

Mia's first real tubby: "I don't like it!"

Mia's first dress.

Kyler's Halloween parade at preschool.

Carving pumpkins.

Our pumpkins. Chris did 2 and I did 1, can you guess which? (Chris is our resident artist)
Kyler kept saying, "Happy Day" and trying to blow out the candles. I guess he thought it was someone's birthday.
Halloween: Our little Monkey and Banana! Kyler had a great time trick or treating. He did the whole neighbor hood, knocking on every door (twice if they were slow to answer) and yelled trick or treat. His pumpkin of candy was so big, Chris had to carry it home because it was too heavy!
