What happened to my laid back, toothless baby girl?

I think Mia read my last post and took offense, because she has decided to make a liar out of me. Literally, the next day she started getting REALLY cranky and fussy. She started throwing herself forward in attempts to crawl, then getting frustrated when she couldn't. Then, last Friday morning, her first tooth popped through, followed quickly by her second. She had her 9 month appointment this week and had to get a shot and a toe prick. She lost an ounce since I weighed her on her actual 9 month a week and a half ago(no doubt from her cranky teething) and is 28 1/2 inches long (87%). What a week. Poor Mia!

Bottom 2 popping in.

More pool time.

Family picnic with the 2nd cousins. This is as good as it gets with this many!

Maddy was sad she didn't get to hold a baby in the group shot so Mia helped cheer her up.

Mia is 9 months old!

Mia is getting to be a big girl but granting me my wish of also staying my little peanut. Kyler got so big, so fast and did everything so early that I felt cheated of his baby time. So Mia is giving me my fill. No teeth, no crawling, no pulling up.

She is just such a chill baby that she is content wherever she is and doesn't need to get around. Every once in a while she will want something out of reach, and she'll rake at it for a while, then go, "Okay I'm fine without it". Whereas, Kyler would get frustrated and keep trying until he did it. Mia does like to stand and tries to pull up but she doesn't even attempt anything like a crawl.

She is 18 pounds, 2 ounces (39%). She is a pretty picky eater but has become a great sleeper (like her brother, who still takes a 2 to 2 1/2 hour nap every day)!

Okay, so I know: what's up with the hair right? Well now it has gotten so long that I actually have to pull it up to keep it out of her face. And it's not the bangs in the front. Its the stuff on top that is really long and just falls straight forward into her eyes. The little barrettes don't hold it very well. So this is her usual look: a crazy pony tail on top of her head. Kind of reminds me of the Snorks.

Grandmom watched Mia on Friday so Kyler and I could go to Dutch Wonderland with some friends. We had a lot of fun.

Run Mommy Run...Daddy and Uncle Dave too!

Some of you may remember this post about Chris running a 5K last 4th of July. I was 6 months pregnant and made a comment that I would run it next year when I wasn't pregnant. Of course, this is one thing Chris remembers and holds me too it. Uncle Dave joined in too and we all had a lot of fun.

Our cheering section.

Swimming and the Philly Zoo

Mia loves swimming in the pool on her float.
We went to the zoo for an evening event after normal hours. It was great because there were no crowds and the animals were pretty lively. I think they were looking for their dinner.
That Tiger had just come up to the glass and looked right at us. It was awesome, but I just missed the photo.
The giraffes were Kyler's favorite.
