Tallahassee 2009

We spent a long weekend in Tallahassee and had a great time with my old college friends and their kids. We saw what we now know was Bobby Bowden's last home game, and even managed to (barely) squeeze out a win.

The kids were great for the flights. Mia slept a good bit of the time and Kyler watched his DVDs.

Friday night the kids got to see Santa at the Downtown Get Down!
Kyler had some serious business to discuss.

Mia and the twins: Will and Karena at the tailgate.
The big boys.
Kyler actually paying attention at the game (for a very short while). He and Carter stayed for the first half.

This is unprecedented: both kids sleeping in the car on the way home from the airport Monday evening. My kids never sleep in the car!

Kyler is 3 1/2 and Mia is 13 months!

Kyler is 3 1/2 as of November 8th. He continues to be our big boy. He is 45 pounds and 44 inches (3 foot, 8 inches). He keeps us laughing with all the funny things he says. He is full of questions too and comes up with some pretty clever answers when you turn the questions back on him. Like the other day, he asked me how a rainbow is made. When I asked him what he thought he said that maybe the colors are on the back of the sun and it flies across the sky like a frisbee painting the rainbow!
Mia is now 13 months as of November 9th and continues to be our little girl. She finally broke 20 pounds, so we can turn her car seat around. She is 20 pounds 2 ounces (27%). Her 4 teeth are still working their way in on the top and she is walking a lot holding hands but only a couple steps here and there on her own. She has, however, mastered going up the ladder on the climber in the basement by her self, crawls across and throws herself down the slide on her belly, head first! Fortunately, someone has been there to catch her so far, but one of these days she's going to have a rough landing! She is starting to give up her morning nap so we have had some rough adjustment days. Luckily, Kyler is still taking great naps every afternoon (for the most part)!

Halloween is a 3 day event!

Kyler is understanding and enjoying the holidays more and more. He remembered trick or treating last year and couldn't wait to do it again. It was technically Mia's second Halloween, but she was only 3 weeks old last year! She is still pretty clueless, but did enjoy this new thing called "CHOCOLATE!"
Halloween lasted 3 days here, and Kyler wore his Clifford costume pretty much all 3 days.
Thursday was Halloween party and parade at Kyler's school.

Friday was Halloween party with the Mom's group.
Mia and her little boyfriend. They are so cute and play together all the time. When we first got there, she went crawling around looking for him. He had a monkey suit on at the time and she crawled right up onto him to see his face to make sure it was him!

Then, of course, trick or treating on Saturday. Mia stayed home and gave out candy with Mommy.
Post trick or treating party at our neighbors.

Sunday was Kelsey's christening and we got to spend time with another little angel.
